Marmara University Mechanical Engineering department was founded in 1993. The department accepted first graduate students in 1994 and first undergraduate students in 1997.

The main goal of the department is to educate top quality mechanical engineers and is to contribute to the production, management, use and propagation of knowledge and technology in Turkey.
